As an artist I believe in the importance of good, authentic storytelling. I think story and animation are fantastic tools for bridging gaps between people and their understanding of each other, as well as just being a tool for emotional expression and connection. I try embodying this concept in my boards and animatics. Animation can make you invested in unrealistic characters and settings while still engaging with your humanity, and it is why I think good storytelling deserves a critical eye. It is why I believe it necessary to push myself in my personal life and in my art, to find better ways to express my own humanity through storytelling.
